How to Calculate Your Required Final Exam Grade
To calculate the score you need on your final exam, use the weighted average formula. Multiply your current class grade by its relative weight, subtract it from your target grade, and divide by the final exam weight.

Required Score = [Target Grade − (Current Grade × (1 − Final Weight))] ÷ Final Weight. Note that weights are decimal numbers (e.g. 20% = 0.2).
